About the event
RRYDE Program includes the following:
Mandatory Road Ready Reckless Driving Awareness Session/Orientation
10 hours of in-person classroom instruction with a certified instructor
20 hours of online classroom instruction
State of WI temporary permit test
Temporary permit upon passing the test and completing the online coursework
6 hours of behind-the-wheel lessons
6 hours of observation
To be eligible for this cohort, youth must:
Be 15 - 17½ years old (not turning 18 before September 25, 2026).
Be enrolled in a school program, high school equivalency program, or have graduated.
Attend Road Ready Reckless Driving Awareness Session/Orientation Monday, March 16, 2026, 4:30 - 6:00 pm.
Commit to attending ALL classes Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17 -18, 2026, and Monday through Wednesday, March 23 - 25, 2026, 4:30 - 6:30 pm. (Missing a class will result in being dropped from the program.)
Must provide ALL the following no later than Monday, March 9, 2026:
Social security number (If a copy of a Wisconsin identification card can be provided, only the last four digits of the social security number are required. Otherwise, the full number must be provided.)
Proof of current enrollment in school
Copy of student ID
Parent/guardian permission for participation (The form to sign will be provided by GMUL upon review of the registration form.)
In-person classes will be held at Greater Milwaukee Urban League, 435 W North Avenue. Transportation will not be provided.
Household income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SESSION, YOUTH MUST:
Be 15 -17 ½ years old. Be enrolled in a school program or high school equivalency program or have graduated. Be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Register for the program and if approved attend Road Ready Reckless Driving Awareness Session/Orientation.
