MKE Heart Health Learning Collaborative (MHHLC)

The Milwaukee Heart Health Learning Collaborative (MHHLC) is bringing together health care and community partners to improve heart health for those living on the north side of Milwaukee. Together we aim to connect those at greatest risk for poor heart health to quality care and needed resources to address social needs. We will meet on a monthly basis to create, discuss, learn about, exchange ideas, and execute heart health activities.

MHHLC Community Partner Spotlight

A Special Thank You to Food for Health, for Hosting us for our MHHLC April 2025 Meeting!

Special Message from Food for Health to MHHLC

As mentioned during the event, you can support our mission by purchasing meals through our website: https://foodforhealth.org/enroll/ Every purchase helps fund our nutrition support programs for those who need it most.

We also invite you to attend our community health education classes. Our final May 2025 session, BeFocused: Dementia 101, will offer valuable insights into brain health and aging. I’ve attached a flyer with details about all of our May classes—please feel free to share it with your networks! May Be3 Community Health HubTM

We’re also excited to announce a new partnership with SpinnMKE! Starting in May, first-time riders can use the code FoodForHealth30, and 30% of your class fee will support our Maternal and Infant Health Program. It’s a great way to support your health while giving back to the community.

Additionally, we have critical volunteer needs—both for individuals and groups. Volunteer shifts are available Tuesday through Friday between 9 AM and 2 PM. Your time can make a real difference in our kitchen and distribution efforts. https://forms.office.com/r/aT1jwVUjg5

To help us continue serving the community efficiently, we are currently collecting facility and office supplies to reduce costs and increase our impact. This is especially vital as we operate in a neighborhood facing the highest rates of high blood pressure in the state.

If you are interested in volunteering, donating supplies, getting involved in any of these initiatives—or even renting our Community Health Hub space—I’d love to connect.

Thank you again for being part of this important work. Together, we’re building a healthier future for Milwaukee.
