5,000+ Driver Ed Grants Released TODAY -- Eligible HS students should apply ASAP!

Milwaukee, WI - Apr 2026: Any Wisconsin high school students who are ready for driver education and qualify for free or reduced lunch should apply for a Driver Education Grant to pay for 100% of their classroom and behind-the-wheel training.

Students should apply ASAP at  https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/dmv/teen-driver/teen-sfty/degrant.aspx. 5,153 grants were made available today.  The grants may go quickly, but will be replenished quarterly.

This program exists because of Common Ground.  We identified the need for affordable driver education and worked to secure $6 million in annual funding in perpetuity.
