Alert Neighbor Program informational meeting to take place | Sept. 19th @ 5:30 pm - City Hall.

Milwaukee, WI - Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs and Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II are encouraging interested residents, community groups and block clubs to attend an informational meeting TOMORROW – Thursday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St. The meeting will provide valuable information on how to apply for the Alert Neighbor Program when applications soon open.

The program, created by Alderwoman Coggs and Alderman Stamper, is an initiative that aims to reduce crime and improve safety in Milwaukee with a block-by-block approach by promoting collaboration among residents, city officials, and other partners. The program provides funding for safety improvements such as cameras, lighting, and signage to neighborhoods that have organized groups of residents committed to addressing crime and safety issues in their area.

“The Alert Neighbor Program was born out of the idea that safe neighborhoods are ones in which neighbors collaborate together with public safety and other area partners in a truly community led and driven approach,” said Alderwoman Coggs and Alderman Stamper. “We would encourage all those interested to attend tomorrow’s meeting to learn more about the program and what is needed to apply.”
